3D Printed Audible BraillePad
In order to solve the issues of dated manufacturing of Braille books and ineffective learning for the visually impaired, our solution is a 3D printed tablet-like Braille book device. By utilizing Fused Deposition Modeling, polylactic acid filament, a highly customizable, inexpensive and biodegradable thermoplastic is used to 3D print the “BraillePad” to facilitate personalized learning. The device is equipped with voice-guided learning which allows the visually impaired to conduct self-learning. Hence, by offering customization and education through touch and hearing in an affordable way while being highly accessible, this device will be a pioneer of a self-learning system for the visually impaired.
