Nature underpins our food systems, yet its value is often overlooked in economic decision-making. This presentation explores why nature is critical, the financing gap that threatens conservation, and the systemic challenges that make funding complex. We will examine how food systems interact with nature and the growing corporate interest in sustainability and resilience. Finally, we will share The Nature Conservancy’s approach, including lessons from Foodscapes and place-based strategies, along with examples of innovative financing structures that can drive transformative change.
