This is an intensive revision programme held over 4 Saturday afternoons from 2pm to 5pm. The main focus would be in helping candidates prepare for the paediatric component of the clinical MMed (Family Medicine) examination.
This modular course comprises teaching short consultation of common paediatric conditions seen in family medicine settings, done in a systematic fashion. Each of the clinical sessions will consolidate the learning of medical problems in various systems and subspecialty of paediatric medicine. Patients with typical conditions will be brought up specially for candidates to interview and consult under the guidance of specialists in our department.
Candidates will be divided into small tutorial groups, each with their own tutors for a more intensive and personal experience. By the end of this course, candidates would cover the spectrum of common paediatric conditions and increase their confidence in managing them in a family medicine setting. All participants will be given opportunities to personally interview and discuss the patients in the FM MMEd exam short consult clinical station format. Time will also be provided for case discussions covering complications, social and holistic management of the patient and the family.
