Reimagining Case Registration - Enhancing New Case Registration for NDCS

The "Reimagining Case Registration" project aims to streamline and enhance the registration experience for new patients at the National Dental Centre Singapore (NDCS). Recognizing the challenges faced by both patients and counter staff due to the high volume of manual registrations, this project leverages digitalization to reduce wait times, alleviate staff workload, and improve patient satisfaction.

Description

The current patient registration process at NDCS relies heavily on manual systems, leading to bottlenecks, overwhelmed staff, and frustrated patients. The "Reimagining Case Registration" initiative proposes a digital transformation of the workflow, using Microsoft Forms, Power Automate, and Excel to front-load data collection, automate approvals, and provide an accessible overview for staff.

This new workflow includes:

  1. Workflow Digitalization: An online form collects essential patient information upfront, automating the approval process and requiring minimal manual intervention. Staff can view and manage approval requests seamlessly in Excel, promoting efficiency.
  2. Workflow Redesign: The redesigned process integrates seamlessly with NDCS's infrastructure, creating a scalable, secure, and user-friendly solution. By verifying new patients through a structured digital pathway, NDCS can improve the patient registration experience, minimize wait times, and ensure smoother interactions at the counter.

This project is supported by SEA, Vioota, Tealseed, and SingHealth, and it represents a significant step towards a more digital and patient-centered healthcare system at NDCS.
