SuperMuttKat is a project about enhancing the supermarket shopping experience through the capabilities of Internet Of Things (IoT) technologies. At the center of SuperMuttKat is an enhanced shopping cart that interacts with IoT sensors and microcontrollers in the supermarket to provide integrated features such as smart cart management, on the spot check out (no more queues!) and product recommendations. This novel cart also comes with prototype theft prevention to address the annual maintenance cost lost to missing carts, faced by local supermarkets.
