Anaesthesiology Residency Program’s Rostering System
The SingHealth Anaesthesiology Residency Program is a comprehensive 5-year training program, during which residents rotate across five training sites, with specific durations and leave restrictions. Currently, rotation planning for 60-70 residents is managed manually by Program Executives, making the planning process highly complex and an administrative burden every six months. Our Google Sheets-based solution aims to streamline the planning process by generating rotation schedules, reducing administrative time spent on routine tasks. Our algorithm accounts for all requirements needed for the three years of residency, factoring in hospital leave restrictions, the sequence of module rotations, and individual leave requests made by residents. By moving their current system online, we enable better collaboration and provide an easy structure that allows for future changes to be made effortlessly.
