OCR-Based Validator for TPN Orders

Our project with KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital focuses on improving the safety and speed of preparing Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN) for patients. Currently, pharmacists manually retype long orders under time pressure, which can cause errors. We built an OCR-based validator that scans printed TPN forms, extracts key data using AI, and displays it side-by-side for easy checking. Pharmacists can quickly confirm details instead of retyping everything. This solution saves time, reduces errors, and supports safer, more efficient pharmacy workflows, showing how AI can assist, not replace, healthcare professionals.
