Smart Fridge 5451

Smart Fridge 5451 is a simple fridge but much more! With this fridge we want to eliminate a few problems that our consumers encounter - we want to eliminate the headache of inventory checks, we want them to feel assured about their fridge’s temperature and humidity control, and we want them to have an interactive product with which they can enjoy at home.

Description

With the world being in the fourth industrial revolution, one of the most remarkable changes that we have been able to experience has been the automation of most things around us. From the smallest devices such as watches or wall lights to larger machines such as those used in industrial manufacturing, we have been able to experience the extent of pervasiveness such devices have and how beneficial they can be with being automated. Similarly, by automating one of the most owned products we want to ease the daily life of the consumers.
Smart Fridge 5451 project's main goal is that the items in the fridge remain fresh and reduce wasteful emissions and conserve electricity, using the Raspberry Pi, which works as the server for the sensors nodes and sends data to the cloud. Here, we are using the temperature and humidity sensor BME280 to record the, and the camera will capture pictures of the items inside the fridge and will be sending it for the object detection, and the ultrasonic ranger used to detect when the fridge is opened and closed. The data available on the realtime database will be used by the Android App to update the user and allow them to update the quantity and expiration data of the items added to the fridge. There will also be a set of alerts conditionally added to maintain the optimum use of the ingredients available in the fridge.
