Skateboarding is about to be bigger than ever. The skateboarding market was valued at $1.8 billion in 2018 and is projected to grow to more than $2.4 billion by 2025 (Miller, 2021). Over the pandemic, skateboarding picked up in popularity as it is a fun and casual physical activity that is relatively easy to learn. Its inclusion for the first time in the 2021 Tokyo Olympics also boosted its reputation to the general public (Vee, n.d). Introducing SKATEasy, the e-commerce application designed for both amateur and professional skaters alike. SKATEasy’s website will allow customers to customise every aspect of their skateboards — from the board itself, to its wheels and bearings, just to name a few. In the example of the board, customers would be able to change its colour, design, or even commission an artist from the community to create a completely unique design for them, based on their preferences. This level of customizability will grant our customers greater flexibility than ever before in deciding their board exactly how they want it to look, and create a platform for them to showcase their creativity and passions.
