The Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) uses the Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths (CANS) tool to assess and address the mental health of children, adolescents and their families. Our system aims to automate repetitive day to day tasks of MSF staff such as processing, analysis and visualisation of data, enabling staff to direct their time towards addressing the needs of the children rather than menial tasks. We also rethought and developed MSF’s existing CANS assessment system to tackle the lack of integration between systems, abstracting away unnecessary post-processing of data between systems.
